Reser’s Fine Foods is an American company engaged in the production of salads, dips, specialty products, side dishes and Mexican foods. The company is headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon.
History
Reser’s was founded by Earl and Mildred Reser in 1950 with its initial focus on potato salad. The founders began by working on fifty pounds of potatoes at a time and doing everything by hand in their farmhouse’s kitchen. Selling their salad under the label “Mrs. Reser’s Salads,” Earl and Mildred Reser slowly made their business known to locals in the area.
The business enjoyed steady growth over the next several years and in 1959, Reser’s became incorporated and relocated to Beaverton, Oregon when its 3,000 square meter facility was completed.
Over the next 30 years, Reser’s continued to grow, all the while remaining family-owned and privately operated. Fourth-generation members of the Reser family currently run the business, leaders who continuously make sure that the same high-quality products are offered to its consumers every time. The company remains dedicated to creating wholesome and delicious meals that sustain a number of families’ traditions and at the same time nourish family bonds.
Currently, the company has 12 processing facilities and over 2,000 employees across the country. The company has expanded its product line and is now the owner of a number of popular brands of food items including Main St. Bistro®, Baja’ Café®’, Potato Express®, Sidari’s Italian® and Stonemill Kitchens®. As for its own label, Reser’s® now has burritos, potatoes, dips and spreads, salads, desserts and packaged meats.
As part of its involvement in the community, the company sponsors different activities and programs for the improvement of the state of Oregon. Because of its sponsorship, the Reser Stadium of Oregon State University has been named after the company.
All of Reser’s prepared meals are sold in major supermarkets and independent retailers all over the country. About a thousand of its products are also available in the markets of Canada, Mexico, Guam and even the Far East.
