La Jolla, CA based Kashi, known for their “better-for-you” recipe snacks and sweets, recently launched their latest product, Chocolate Almond Butter Cookies.
Keegan Sheridan, a natural food and lifestyle expert at Kashi, said “For people looking for a delicious treat with nutrition they can feel great about, our Chocolate Almond Butter Cookie is a delicious option that fulfills any cookie craving.” Sheridan continued, “Our version of pure cookie bliss combines wholesome ingredients and creamy chocolate, while also providing a good source of fiber and a variety of whole grains. You’ll savor each bite of this delicious, chewy, soft-baked cookie, which tastes just like homemade.”
The new product blends rich cocoa and creamy almond butter with crunchy almonds, dark chocolate chips, and Kashi’s signature combination of seven whole grains. This new flavor joins Kashi’s successful line of cookies which include flavors such as Oatmeal Dark Chocolate, Happy Trail Mix and Oatmeal Raisin Flax. Each recipe contains a variety of tasty ingredients including dark chocolate, raisins, sunflower seeds, cranberries, shredded coconut, peanuts, almonds, walnuts and flax seeds. As is the case with all Kashi foods, these newest cookies contain no preservatives, artificial flavors, colors or high fructose corn syrup. One cookie contains 10 grams of whole grains, 4 grams of fiber and 3 grams of protein, while only containing 130 calories.
Kashi, a subsidiary of Kellogg Company, specializes in breakfast cereals, energy bars, crackers, frozen entrées including pizza and breakfast foods, as well as snack foods. The company advertises their products as containing a blend of seven whole grains and sesame and emphasizes high protein and fiber content.
