On July 14, Oregon-based Willamette Valley Fruit Comp. announced a recall for several of its pie products due to an undeclared allergen.
The recalled products are apple pies, marion berry pies and cherry pies. These pies are being recalled because butter was used as an ingredient but it was undeclared on the products’ labels. The affected pies were distributed between July 1 to July 13. The pies measure 8 inches, are packed in white-colored square boxes covered with a top having a transparent window. The pies were sold under the Whole Foods label, printed as “Whole Foods Market Bakehouse Pie.” Specifications of the recalled products are the following:

The recalled pies were distributed among Whole Foods stores in Nevada and Northern California, Berkeley, Blossom Hill (in San Jose), Campbell, Franklin (in San Francisco), Harrison (in Oakland), Los Altos, Mill Valley, Napa, Novato, Blithedale (Mill Valley), Capitola, Coddingtown (in Santa Rosa), Fresno, Lafayette, Los Gatos, Monterey, Noe Valley (San Francisco), Palo Alto, Potrero Hill (in San Francisco), Reno, Sacramento, San Rafael, Santa Cruz, Sebastopol, South Market (in San Francisco), Stevens Creek (in Cupertino), Petaluma, Redwood City, Roseville, San Mateo, San Ramon, Santa Rosa, Sonoma, Stanyan (in San Francisco) and Walnut Creek.
