Utah Jazz fans will be receiving Fresh Market healthy snacks throughout the NBA Season 2012-2013.
Fresh Market and the Utah Jazz have teamed up to provide these healthy options at their games.
JazzFit, which encourages Jazz fans to realize active, happier and healthier lifestyles is the Jazz program that will partner to offer a produce stall with fresh seasonal fruit for those looking for healthier options. The proceeds that will result from the stand will go to YMCA in Northern Utah.
Fresh Market’s EVP David Rice said that a chance to give healthy snacks at their in-arena stand and giving the proceeds to support YMCA’s efforts and promote wellbeing and greater health of Jazz fans would be an honor.
Jazz president Randy Rigby praised the partnership with the retailer, as it will help Jazzfit achieve its objectives by having concession stands offer healthier options to fans.
EnergySolutions Arena is one of the places where Fresh Market’s stands offers fresh oranges, apples and bananas at home games for Jazz fans to enjoy. Select appearances will also be made by Fresh Market’s mascot Abby the Apple. YMCA of Northern Utah CEO Richard West also lauded the partnership as the organization’s Healthy Living section is aligned to what Utah Jazz’s programs aim to accomplish. West further added that the help will be of value as YMCA aims at helping youth, families and adults live a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
Fresh Market provides services and products as a member of Associated Food Stores, which is based in Salt Lake City and is a retailer-owned warehouse, giving these products to 400 plus grocers in the Intermountain West region.
