Garbanzo BeansOn March 4, 2011, a voluntary recall of Field Day® Organic Garbanzo Beans (Chickpeas) was announced by manufacturer Faribault Foods Inc. The reason for the said recall is that some cans have minestrone soup on its label. The recall was made after 2 reports reached Faribault Foods that the cans of the affected product contains minestrone soup, which could contain allergens for some people.

The product recall is limited only to one batch with lot code 813 c1 014 10, UPC number 42563 60003. The garbanzo beans are packed in 15-ounce cans. The information given can be found on the base of the can.

Minestrone soup is a pasta and vegetable soup which contains milk, soy, wheat and egg allergens. Thus, people who have a severe sensitivity or allergic reactions to the said ingredients may be put in serious health risks when they take in a product that contains minestrone soup.

Currently, there are no health problems that have been reported which are related to the product recall. The affected products were distributed and sold in various retail markets all over the country. Currently, retailers have removed the product from their display.
