After acquiring C & S Wholesale Growers, Belle Foods has plans to rebrand their new stores under their new Belle Foods banner. The conversion plans are expected to take place in the next 18 months with Belle Foods wanting to position themselves with a family owned theme. Currently stores in Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Mississippi operate under the Bruno’s, Piggly Wiggly, Southern Family markets and Food World brands. The conversion will mark the end of the Bruno banner.

On Tuesday August 14, Walmart stores launched its first ultra premium dry dog food. According to Walmart the products primary ingredient is real lamb or poultry and also contains omega-6 and 3 fatty acids to give the dogs a healthy skin and coat, boost immunity and improve heart and eye health. Pure Balance, the name of the dog food, is selling at $39.88 for the 30-pound bag on the company’s website Walmart.com.

There is some good news for those in New Port Beach, California and its environs after Bristol Farms opened a hot wok Asian fusion station. The hot wok station is under trial according to Bristol Farms officials and customers are offered a chance to select ingredients that they would desire in a meal, have it cooked on the spot by the chef and returned to them at a price ranging from $7.99 and $8.99. The customer has a selection of vegetables, sprouts and a protein (beef, chicken, tofu or noodles), which they fill in a bowl. Other features in the store include; a salad bar, a sandwich station, soup bar, a wood stone pizza oven and a wine and beer section.
