Aiello Foods is a privately owned food production and retail company. The company produces pasta products for retail at its Alfredo’s stores and in various supermarkets, as well as for its customers in the food service industry.
History
Alfredo Aiello Italian Foods, Incorporated was founded in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1967. Originally, the company focused on producing and supplying pasta to different restaurants and various food retail stores. The founders also decided to put up a retail store in front of the company’s processing plant that was named Alfredo’s.
In the succeeding years, Aiello Foods started to grow at a rapid pace and added many renovations to its facility. A dry-storage area, two production areas, one large storage freezer and an office space were added to the newly renovated facility. In January 1995, they made plans for the relocation of the retail store in order to be able to expand both the store and the processing facility.
The retail store was finally relocated in May 1995 and the company held a grand opening for the newly-relocated store, one that was also significantly bigger than the original one. When the retail store was relocated, the space vacated in the facility was converted to a processing area. Today, the facility continues to process pasta products for retail, as well as for food service supply. The facility has also been given a HACCP certification, proof that the company’s products and processes are safe.
In December 2002, Aiello Foods opened a second retail store, located in the area of Norwell. This second retail store had the same offerings as the first store and carried products such as pasta (frozen and fresh), entrées, Italian deli, specialty items and olive oil.
After the success of the first two retail stores, the company decided to open a third store located in the area of Canton, Massachusetts. This third retail store opened in March of 2010.
Today, Aiello Foods and its Alfredo’s retail stores continue to thrive and produce Italian food delicacies for various retailers, supermarkets and food service businesses. The stores have also started to offer more products including espresso coffees, chocolates, candies, San Pellegrino drinks, imported meats, cakes, cookies and imported cheeses. To expand the scope of its market, the company has also created a website where people from different parts of the country can order Alfredo-branded products to be shipped to them.
