British food company Tower Bakery has recently announced a product recall on several of its savoury products. The products are being recalled due to mislabelling, on the date codes printed on the packaging.

The recalled savoury products are the following: Scotch Pie, Sausage Rolls, Macaroni Pie, Chicken Curry Pie, Haggis, Neeps & Tatties Pie, Steak Bridie, Onion Bridie, and Steak Pie. All of these specified savoury products are sold under the Tower brand. All of these products have an incorrect date code. The products’ shelf life exceeds that of its tested one, which could lead to a possible safety hazard for consumers. The affected savoury products have a “Use By” date of 29/9/11. Those having a “Use By” date before September 29 are also included in the product recall.

The recalled Tower Savoury Products were sold in the area of Scotland, particularly at Scotmid grocery stores and Co-operative Stores. Point-of-Sale Notices have already been sent to these retail stores. The notices will be displayed on the stores in order to inform customers about the recall. The notices will also contain instructions on returning the product in case customers have already bought any prior to the recall.

Tower Bakery is already taking measures to make sure that the incident does not happen again. Customers who were able to buy any of the affected savoury products are requested to return it to the store where it they purchased it. They will be given a refund for returning the recalled product.
