Minnesota-based Watkins, Incorporated has issued a product recall on specific containers of Soynilla. The product is being recalled because of the presence of an undeclared allergen in its ingredients.

The voluntary recall was immediately initiated after it was found that the product contained milk, but did not indicate it in the packaging’s list of ingredients. The undeclared allergen was discovered after the company did a routine review of its product labeling of allergens. Investigation suggested that there was a temporary crash in the company’s process of allergen identification.

In all, 1,535 individual packs of Soynilla are affected by the recall, with each one having a net weight of 7.7 ounces. The product packaging is plastic and white-colored, and is marked with the lot number, 300280, on the side. The recalled product was distributed via the Watkins network of associates, independent contractors, as well as mail orders.

Milk is a common food allergen that causes allergy attacks in people who are hypersensitive to it. Common symptoms of an allergy attack include hives, vomiting, digestive problems, wheezing and anaphylaxis. In some instances, an allergy attack can lead to more serious health risks. Currently, there have been no reported allergy attacks related to the recalled product.

People who were able to buy the recalled Soynilla product are strongly advised to return it to the place or the distributor they bought it from. They may call the company to be given instructions on how to return the product. The company can be reached at 1-800-243-9423. Customer service representatives will be available to answer customer concerns and inquiries from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM Central Time, on weekdays.
