History
Main Street Ingredients was founded by Dave Clark in 1989. Over the years since its foundation, the company has gone through a number of reinvestments in infrastructure. It has also created strategic alliances with its main partners, which contributed significantly to its growth.
In 1999, Main Street was able to acquire the assets of DMV USA. Two years after, it became a corporation that was completely locally held. In 2002, Main Street added 64,000 square feet of warehouse and production capacity. Two years later, the company added an agglomeration system to its facility.
In 2005, 44,000 square feet was again added to the facility’s warehouse capacity. In the same year, the company also designed and built a new Research and Development Center. A year afterward, Main Street was able to acquire Hilton House Foods. In the same year, the company added a specialty processor to its facility.
In 2007, the company expanded its facility by 22,000 square feet in order to house several additions, such as a new laboratory for quality control, conference rooms, locker rooms for employees, more office space and a lunchroom. In May of 2008, Main Street was given the Governor’s Export award for performing excellently in the area of small agricultural exporting.
The year 2009 was a year of employee promotions for the company as Eric Halstead, was promoted as brand manager for Keystone® stabilizers and Rob Hollnagel Junior was promoted sales manager. In the later part of 2010, the company was bought by Agropur.
Currently Main Street’s products are used by food manufacturing companies in the baking part of the food industry. These products are ingredients in the production of breads, cereals, cakes and beverages (nutritional drinks and sports drinks). The company also produces ingredients for use in creating various dairy products. In this area, some ingredients produced by the company include lactose, dry milk (nonfat) and concentrates of whey protein. The company’s products are distributed to different parts of the country, and in 20 other countries, as well.
