SavingStar Inc. is a company that offers the first fully digital, national grocery e-coupon service. These e-coupons are available at the company’s website, www.savingstar.com.
History
SavingStar Inc. was created by current Chief Executive Officer, David Rochon. The company, together with its website, was launched on April 18, 2011. With the website’s launching comes the offering of at least 50 e-coupons of participating brands like Heinz.
Through SavingStar, consumers are empowered to choose what they prefer when it comes to their method of saving money. This is because the company offers several payout options like cash, charity donations or gift cards.
Aside from the website, the company has also created its free iPhone and Android application so shoppers can still access their e-coupons by using their smartphones. Participating store chains include Albertsons, Winn-Dixie, Wegmans and CVS.
According to Rochon, SavingStar is the best solution when it comes to providing consumers with an easier and more convenient way to save money. He added that SavingStar’s simple process can make a major impact on every household savings per month.
How SavingStar E-coupons Work
SavingStar coupons are not the conventional ones that need to be clipped or printed and are basically paperless. SavingStar coupons are free to use. These e-coupons can be used in more than 20,000 drug stores and supermarkets that participate in SavingStar’s service. Currently, SavingStar works with a large network of retailers that accept digital coupons in the United States.
Shoppers have the option to choose the digital coupons that they prefer. Upon checkout, when their store loyalty cards are swiped, money then automatically goes to their SavingStar accounts instead of being subtracted at the register. Once the money in their SavingStar account reaches the minimum amount for payout, shoppers can then choose the mode of payout that they prefer. They have the option to deposit the money directly to their Paypal accounts. They can also choose to convert to a gift card from Amazon or they can donate the money to charity, specifically to the American Forests (a charity that is focused on planting trees). The company is still continuing to come up with more payout options for shoppers to take advantage of.
