Nestle’ Ice CreamOn February 16, Nestle’ announced the worldwide launch of its peel-able ice cream product. This ice cream is considered to be the first of its kind in the ice cream industry.

The revolutionary ice cream product was first introduced in Thailand in 2010, where it was a huge hit, especially with the kids. It was labeled as Eskimo Monkey. In its television advertisements in Thailand, commercials showed the fun of having to peel the ice cream. The ‘peel-ability’ of the product was the company’s main selling point.

The ice cream itself looks like a banana, complete with a jelly shell that is peel-able. By taking a bite at the top of the ice cream, you can start the peeling part, rolling it down like a banana skin until you reveal its ice cream core.

Aside from being an exciting, new and fun ice cream product, Eskimo Monkey also complies with the company’s nutritional requirements. The ice cream contains no artificial coloring, is low in fat and is also low in sugar. The ice cream product also sustains the company’s Nutrition, Wellness and Health strategic programs for all of its products.

According to Herve’ Cathelin, Nestle’ Ice Cream’s Global Head, working on an ice cream requires one to think like a child, who always wants to play, explore and have fun. This will ensure that the finished product will appeal to kids. Nestle’s Ice Cream achieves this goal and also incorporates the company’s nutritional foundation.

The peel-able ice cream product was launched in Malaysia last January, in the Philippines last February and in Europe last March. The launch will continue to several more countries in the succeeding months.
